Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and Irfan Khan have been ruled out of the last two T20Is against New Zealand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed Wednesday.

The PCB Medical Panel yesterday received the Radiology reports of both players and after reviewing the reports with consultation of the Pakistan team management, it has been decided to rest the two players from Thursday’s and Saturday’s T20Is against New Zealand.

The two players will now work on their rehabilitation with the PCB Medical Panel at NCA.

Rizwan sustained a hamstring injury during the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand.

The injury occurred while Rizwan was batting, forcing him to retire hurt in the third T20I clash.

Following a medical assessment, the team doctor advised Rizwan against further participation in the series, citing the need for rest and rehabilitation to ensure a full recovery.
