A court in Karachi has cancelled the interim bail of well-known YouTuber Rajab Butt in a case related to religious sentiments after he failed to appear before the court during the hearing on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The proceedings took place at the Additional Sessions Court, where the judge revoked his pre-arrest bail due to his absence.
According to the defence lawyer, Rajab Butt could not attend the hearing due to reported health issues, with his lawyer informing the court that his condition prevented him from appearing.
However, the complainant’s counsel strongly opposed this stance, arguing that the accused had repeatedly avoided court appearances by presenting excuses on each date. The lawyer urged the court to deny any relief and proceed without further delay.
The case against Rajab Butt was registered at Hyderi Market Police Station and involves allegations concerning disrespect toward Islamic values.
Following arguments from both sides, the court cancelled the interim bail.
