Harry Styles is preparing to break ground on his highly anticipated £30 million mega-renovation project in north London, with construction set to begin next month.
The ambitious development, which combines two luxury homes into one sprawling estate, is expected to be completed by October 2027.
The former One Direction star, 31, secured planning approval in April after months of back-and-forth with authorities due to strict conservation regulations in Hampstead, one of London’s most prestigious neighbourhoods. His plans include creating a modern residence featuring four bedrooms, a gym, a cinema, an art gallery, and staff quarters.
However, work on the property has already faced delays. New documents reveal that further ecological surveys were required before construction could commence, as the estate lies in an area where local wildlife must be carefully protected. One report flagged the presence of a feral pigeon nest, fox holes, and potential bat activity. Should bats be confirmed on-site, all work would need to stop while Styles applies for a special licence from Natural England.
To ensure the process runs smoothly, Styles has assembled a team of consultants who are liaising with local officials, contractors, and neighbors. Noise pollution and disruption have been flagged as major concerns, leading the singer to commit to using “acoustic enclosures” around heavy machinery and opting for electric-powered engines rather than petrol-driven equipment.
The star has also coordinated with celebrity neighbour Cat Deeley, who is renovating a nearby property. Together, their teams have distributed leaflets to local residents and pledged to proactively manage the cumulative impact of construction projects in the area. One planning document stated: “Contractors will co-ordinate activities whenever possible to minimise disruption to residents.”
Despite the hurdles, the project is moving ahead and, if completed as scheduled, will give Styles one of the most impressive celebrity homes in London. The development reflects the singer’s growing presence in the city, where he has become one of the UK’s most prominent cultural figures since his rise to fame as part of One Direction.
Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi has also purchased two homes in Hampstead. According to reports, Capaldi plans to use one property for hosting friends and parties, while keeping the other as a private retreat. The interiors are reportedly being styled by Soho House, as the chart-topping artist has admitted he has little eye for design.
