Three people, including a guest, died when some unidentified armed men opened fire on them in the Swabi area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
The incident took place in the village Ismailia in Swabi. The deceased were identified as Alam Zaib, 42, Bilal, 32, and a guest.
Soon after the firing incident, a heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead people to Kalu Khan Hospital for autopsy.
According to police, the firing incident looks to be a targeted incident. Police collected all the available evidence from the crime scene and summoned a forensic team.
Police also recorded statements of the residents and cordoned off the entire area.
Police also issued a warning to the people that if they notice a suspicious person or activity, they should inform the police immediately.
