A Lahore High Court judge Saturday issued a notice to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and other parties on a petition filed by Mian Muhammad Azhar, the father of PTI leader Hammad Azhar, who wants to contest the upcoming elections from NA-129 Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The petition alleged that the police and the returning officers were creating hurdles in the submission of Hammad Azhar's nomination papers.
The petitioner requested the court to direct the ECP to accept his son's nomination papers and order the police not to interfere in the process.
Justice Ali Baqir Najafi heard the petition in his chamber and sought a reply from the ECP and other respondents by yesterday.
