Punjab Advocate General Amjad Pervez held an important meeting with National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Nazir Ahmed Butt and discussed effective measures for eliminating illegal encroachments on government land.
According to sources, the meeting focused on developing a coordinated strategy to address illegal occupation of state land, which both sides termed a serious waste of national resources. It was agreed that indiscriminate and lawful action against such encroachments is inevitable in the larger public interest.
The participants emphasized the need to enhance mutual cooperation between NAB and the Punjab government to bring greater speed, transparency, and effectiveness to ongoing and future operations. In this regard, it was decided to prepare a comprehensive and workable action plan aimed at recovering government land from illegal occupants.
Detailed consultations were also held on legal aspects, operational challenges, and possible solutions to ensure that all actions are carried out strictly in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
Pervez reaffirmed his commitment to utilizing all available legal resources to protect government land. Butt, a retired general of the Pakistan Army, stated that NAB would continue to fulfill its responsibilities against corruption and illegal occupation with full force.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen coordination between relevant institutions to ensure effective implementation of measures aimed at safeguarding government land and protecting public interest.
