Two women test positive for Monkeypox in Faisalabad

Monkeypox has reached Faisalabad from Lahore, where two female patients are undergoing treatment at Allied Hospital; one has tested positive, health officials confirmed on Wednesday.

Vice Chancellor Faisalabad Medical University Prof Zafar Ali Chaudhry said that both women had been admitted to the hospital and were under treatment for the past three days.

He confirmed that laboratory reports later returned positive for monkeypox.

Following confirmation, both patients were immediately isolated in accordance with health protocols to prevent further spread of the virus.

Dr Chaudhry said that the condition of both patients is stable and out of danger, adding that they are receiving complete medical care and treatment at the facility.

He further stated that the patients are responding well to treatment and are expected to be discharged within the next one to two days.
