The National Assembly secretariat, which has been tasked with registering the newly elected members of the National Assembly (MNAs), has made it mandatory for them, including those elected on reserved seats, to produce their official MNA and computerized national identity cards (CNICs) before their entry in the House, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Similarly, the secretariat has also told the legislators to bring with them their MNA cards so that they could produce them before their oath-taking, and elections for the seats of speaker, the deputy speaker and the prime minister.
The secretariat officials, on the other hand, have said that only 70 MNAs have received their cards so far.
They have informed the lawmakers that the facilitation center set up at the secretariat for the purpose will remain open not only today but also on Sunday so they better hurry and get these cards.
