A bullet-riddled body was recovered from the servant quarters of PTI leader and former Punjab minister Mian Aslam Iqbal’s residence at Samanabad in Lahore, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Monday.
Police sources confirmed that authorities have registered a murder case under Section 302 PPC and gathered forensic evidence from the scene.
The identity of the deceased remains unknown, while police suspect the victim was shot dead by unidentified assailants.
Meanwhile, in another major crime development, three Model Town police officers have been accused of kidnapping a doctor and extorting Rs500,000.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the officers abducted Dr. Mukhtar Hussain at gunpoint from his home, took him to an undisclosed location, and threatened to kill him.
The victim was reportedly forced to withdraw money from an ATM, after which he was dumped on Ferozepur Road.
Despite the registration of a case, police have yet to arrest their own colleagues involved in the crime.
