Bandits robbed the home of a missing person in the Gul Plaza fire incident in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The statement of Asif’s family members was also obtained by City-21 TV channel, in which they said that they were busy in search of Asif, who lost contact with the family after the Gul Plaza fire incident.
The family members said that they visited Edhi’s mortuary and the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Taking advantage of their continued absence from home, bandits broke the lock of their house and stole all the golden jewellery and other valuable items.
They further complained that after the passage of three days, the Garden Police Station did not reply positively.
The search operation at Gul Plaza has entered its final stages, with the recovery of additional human remains raising the confirmed death toll to 71.
Moreover, rescue efforts have been ongoing at the Karachi plaza for seven days. The recovery of further remains has contributed to the increase in fatalities.
Sources reported that additional remains were sent to Civil Hospital Karachi for DNA testing yesterday.
During the post-mortem, it became evident that the quantity of remains recovered was greater than initially estimated, resulting in a higher confirmed death count.
Deputy Commissioner South, Javed Nabi Khosa, stated that the search operation is now in its final phase and is expected to conclude today.
