The two most-wanted dacoits were gunned down during a police encounter in Attock, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The police encounter took place in the Hassanabdal area of Attock.
Police said that they received credible information about the presence of suspicious persons in Kati Pahari area.
During the police raid, the dacoits started firing on the police party. Police personnel saved their lives after adopting precautionary measures.
During heavy exchange of fire, two dacoits died. The dacoits were later identified as Aminullah and Kamran Shehzad.
Both dacoits were police record holders. Later, all the accomplices of the dacoits escaped from the scene, taking advantage of the darkness.
Later, the police shifted the dead bodies to the hospital and started a search operation to apprehend the accused.
