Pakistan ended their T20 series on a high, defeating Bangladesh by a commanding 74-run margin in the third and final match on Thursday, thanks to a fiery half-century by Sahibzada Farhan and a ruthless bowling display that bundled the hosts out for just 104 runs.
Chasing a target of 179, Bangladesh crumbled under pressure as nine of their batters failed to reach double digits. Only Mohammad Saifuddin (35) and Mohammad Naeem (10) offered any resistance. Pakistan’s bowling attack was clinical, with Salman Mirza picking up 3 wickets, and Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf chipping in with two each.
Despite the convincing win, Bangladesh clinched the three-match series 2-1, marking their first-ever T20I series victory over Pakistan — having won the previous two games in Dhaka by defending modest totals.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan posted a much-improved 178 for 7 in their 20 overs, courtesy of a brilliant 41-ball 63 by Sahibzada Farhan, who smashed five sixes and six fours. He was well-supported by Hasan Nawaz, who hammered 33 off 17 balls, and Mohammad Nawaz, who added a quickfire 27 off 16 deliveries.
The visitors had made two changes for the dead rubber, resting Fakhar Zaman and Khushdil Shah, and bringing in Farhan and Hussain Talat. Skipper Salman Ali Agha, who scored 12, had said pre-match that the team was focused on ending the series with momentum.
Bangladesh, already secure in the series, rested five of their first-choice players, including pace spearhead Mustafizur Rahman, as part of their T20 experimentation strategy. Their depleted lineup struggled to keep up with Pakistan's hunger for redemption.
