The tragic aftermath of flash floods in the Babusar and Chilas areas continues as the body of six-year-old Abdul Hadi from Lodhran, who had gone missing during the flood, has now been recovered, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

According to the channel report, the families of the deceased have left for Chilas to receive the child's body. Fourteen persons are still missing.

Meanwhile, the dead bodies of Fahad Islam and Dr Mishal Fatima, who also lost their lives in the same incident, are scheduled to be transported to Lodhran today.

On the other hand, Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan visited the flood-hit areas, personally monitoring the ongoing search and rescue operations and assessing relief efforts.

CM Gulbar Khan has ordered that the search operation must continue until the last missing person is found. All provincial ministers have been instructed to remain present in their constituencies to oversee relief work firsthand.

According to government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq, the chief minister has issued directives for the restoration of roads and rehabilitation of affected people. He emphasised ensuring uninterrupted access to clean water, electricity, and food supplies for the victims.

In addition, the chief minister has directed deputy commissioners to establish control rooms in flood-affected districts and ensure complete support to the impacted population.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives, CM Gulbar acknowledged the scale of devastation and reaffirmed the government's unwavering support for those affected.

Yesterday, despite bad weather and damaged roads, the government successfully rescued all tourists stranded near Babusar Pass, relocating them to Chilas, where private hotels are offering free lodging.

Meanwhile, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has launched full-scale operations to clear multiple sections of the Karakoram Highway (KKH), which has been blocked by landslides and debris following the cloudburst-triggered floods.
