A deadly hand grenade attack rocked the Aab-e-Gum village in the Bolan district late Wednesday night, killing one man and injuring three others, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
According to SSP Kachhi Rana Muhammad Dilawar, unknown assailants hurled a grenade at four individuals sitting outside a home, using the cover of darkness to escape undetected after the attack.
The explosion resulted in the death of a man identified as Ahmed, while Zohaib, Wadood, and Hakeem Meer Hazar sustained critical injuries.
All four victims belong to the Raiheja tribe and were swiftly transported to Civil Hospital Machh for medical treatment.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers.
This incident follows an earlier terrorist activity in the Bolan region on March 18, 2025, when unknown gunmen attacked the Manjho Dam area in Shoran, kidnapping seven local labourers and setting two vehicles ablaze.
The kidnapped men were identified as Babe Khan, Abdul Shakoor, Gul Muhammad, Muhammad Ilyas, Noor Ali Shah, Muhammad Asif, and Elahi Bakhsh.
On March 11, 2025, a terror attack on the Jaffar Express occurred in the Bolan region, where security forces rescued at least 104 train passengers, including 58 men, 31 women, and 15 children, from the militants.
At least 16 militants were also killed during the rescue operation launched by Pakistan's security forces, and the remaining militants have split into smaller groups. At least 17 people were injured in the attack.
Security operations in the region continue, as authorities investigate whether these events are part of a broader pattern of militant violence in the area.
