The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has successfully distributed 4,000 Non-Food Item (NFI) Shelter Relief Kits to families affected by natural disasters and internal displacement across seven districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The large-scale relief operation was conducted in partnership with the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) AJK, with additional coordination from NDMA Pakistan and local partner Hayat Foundation.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, a total of 28,155 individuals benefited directly from the distribution of Shelter Relief Kits.
Each relief kit included temporary shelter materials, solar panels with LED lights, warm blankets, plastic mats, kitchen utensils, water coolers, and antiseptic soap—providing both immediate support and longer-term resilience for displaced families.
Relief kits were allocated across the following districts: Muzaffarabad (325 kits), Jhelum Valley (542), Neelum (433), Kotli (766), Bhimber (151), Poonch (881), and Haveli (902).
Speaking at the distribution ceremony in Muzaffarabad, SDMA Director General Sardar Waheed lauded the timely and effective assistance from Saudi Arabia and KSrelief, stating, “This humanitarian gesture reflects the deep-rooted ties between the people of Saudi Arabia and Azad Kashmir. The aid was delivered with transparency, dignity, and efficiency.”
The initiative underscores KSrelief’s commitment to disaster response, rehabilitation, and stability in crisis-hit regions. The centre continues to play a vital role in alleviating human suffering in Pakistan by delivering coordinated, needs-based humanitarian aid.
