A Lahore-bound passenger bus met with a tragic accident on the M-5 Motorway near Multan, leaving one person dead and four others injured, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
According to the motorway police spokesperson, the bus had departed from Sadiqabad en route to Lahore when it crashed due to the driver suddenly falling asleep at the wheel.
As a result, the passenger bus veered off the motorway, causing serious injuries and a fatality.
Emergency teams from the motorway police promptly arrived at the scene and began rescue and relief operations.
The injured passengers were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
