Eleven militants were killed and two security personnel were martyred in an intelligence-based operation in general area Sararogha, South Waziristan District, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the ISPR, security forces conducted an operation in general area Sararogha on reports of presence of Indian-sponsored terrorists in the area. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the khwarij and eliminated eleven of them. Seven others were injured in the operation.
During an intense fire exchange, Major Syed Moiz Abbas Shah (age 37 years, resident of District Chakwal) and Lance Naik Jibran Ullah (age 27 years, resident of District Bannu) were martyred.
Major Moiz was renowned for his courage and daring actions in numerous operations against the khwarij. He was a brave officer who was leading his troops from the front and he fought gallantly. Lance Naik Jibran was another brave son of soil who sacrificed his life in this operation.
A sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate the remnants of Indian sponsored terrorists in the area.
