Pakistan has paid tribute to the contributions of women in international diplomacy on the occasion of International Women Diplomats Day, with Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch highlighting the role of Pakistani women diplomats on the global stage.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the Foreign Secretary extended congratulations to women diplomats around the world, especially those from Pakistan who are representing the country with professionalism and confidence in high-stakes global arenas.
“This day reflects the growing interest and critical role of women in global affairs,” said Amina Baloch. “Women across the world are playing leading roles in high-level diplomacy, conflict resolution, and peace promotion.”
Acknowledging the significance of inclusive diplomacy, she noted that women diplomats are not only part of foreign policy formulation but also central to international negotiations. “Where the world is facing increasingly complex challenges, the services and perspectives of women diplomats are both commendable and indispensable,” she added.
As Pakistan’s top diplomat, Baloch reaffirmed the country’s commitment to encouraging greater representation and presence of women in diplomacy, emphasising that their contributions are vital to fostering global understanding and cooperation.
“Pakistan takes immense pride in its professional, confident, and capable women diplomats who are carrying the national flag in international forums with grace and excellence,” she stated.
