Passengers of Saudi Airlines flight SV-5728 staged a protest at Islamabad international airport on Wednesday after they were reportedly not provided Zam Zam water upon arrival, causing frustration among travellers, particularly those returning from Saudi Arabia.

According to sources, passengers expressed anger over the non-availability of the sacred water and demanded its immediate distribution. The airport administration informed the passengers that Zam Zam water would be provided on June 29, assuring them that arrangements were being made to resolve the issue.

However, many passengers rejected the explanation, arguing that they had travelled from distant areas and could not afford to return to the airport at a later date merely to collect the water.

“We have come from remote areas. How are we supposed to come back again just to receive Zam Zam water?” several passengers complained during the protest.

Sources said negotiations between the affected passengers and airport authorities were continuing in an effort to reach a solution and ease the concerns of the travellers.

Airport officials have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the delay, while passengers have called for immediate measures to ensure the timely delivery of Zam Zam water to all eligible travellers.
