Muhammad Arslan, the main suspect of brutal murder and rape of 8-year old Muntaha Zahra, killed in police encounter by CCD, was denied burial at various graveyards in the city as people strongly reacted to this heinous crime, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
After the completion of all the legal formalities and post-mortem examination, the dead body was transported to the various locations for burial.The resident of the area have reacted strongly when the burial of main accused was being arranged. The nearby residents of several graveyards refused to allow the burial due to the wide spread public anger over heinous crime.
The local also boycotted the funeral proceeding and refused the funeral prayer and burial in their area of Sargodha city. Eventually, the suspect was buried in the 58 North Graveyard and only 7 individuals attended his funeral prayer.
The main accused, who raped an 8-year-old girl, was killed during an encounter with Crime Control Department (CCD) team in Sargodha.
According to details, the police were taking the accused for recovery when his associates suddenly opened fire on the police team. In retaliation for the firing by the CCD team, the main accused died on the spot.
Earlier, on Tuesday, police arrested the main suspect in the case of the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl, Muntaha Zahra.
Sources told the 24News TV channel that Arsalan, the main suspect, was allegedly a drug addict and was involved in similar activities in the past as well.
Three accomplices of Arsalan had been arrested on the very first day. Police said they were interrogating Hanif, the shopkeeper, his son, and another person taken into custody in connection with the crime.
Earlier, DPO Sohaib Ashraf constituted teams to nab the culprits. As per the FIR, Zahra had gone to purchase some items from a shop when Arsalan raped her and then murdered her with a sharp-edged weapon. It was further stated that the girl’s father had an altercation with the shopkeeper a few days ago.
On the other hand, CCTV footage showed the girl walking into a shop, not to be seen again.
