Pakistan won two gold medals at the Asian Junior Squash Championships after young players Nauman Khan and Ahmed Rayan Khalil secured the Under-17 and Under-15 titles, respectively, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
In the Under-17 final, Nauman Khan defeated India’s Shivon Agrawal 3-1 after recovering from the loss of the opening game.
The Pakistani player staged a strong comeback to win three consecutive games, sealing victory with scores of 10-12, 11-7, 11-2, and 11-5.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Rayan Khalil claimed the Under-15 crown with a dominant 3-0 victory over Malaysia’s Vidhuran in the final.
Ahmed Rayan won the match comfortably with scores of 11-7, 11-3, and 11-4 to hand Pakistan its second gold medal of the championship.
In the girls’ Under-15 category, Pakistan’s Mah Noor Ali finished with a silver medal after losing the final to a Chinese opponent.
