Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the importance of Business-to-Business cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese companies to further strengthen fraternal relations between the two countries.

He made these remarks during his meetings with senior Chinese corporate executives, representing several leading companies in Hangzhou today.

As part of his outreach to China’s corporate sector, the Prime Minister met representatives of Sheng Huo Neng Yuan Ke Ji Company, CATL, StarCharge, and Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group.

He also met Agnes Siu, CEO of Sheng Huo Neng Yuan Ke Ji Company. The discussions focused on cooperation in renewable energy sector.

The Prime Minister highlighted the emerging renewable energy market and its growing demand in Pakistan. He also outlined the policy measures taken by the government to facilitate the renewable energy sector, particularly solar power.

The Prime Minister also met Oscar Luo, Executive President of CATL. Discussions focused on cooperation in advanced batteries, energy storage, and solar-linked solutions to support Pakistan’s clean energy transition.

A meeting was also held with Danwei Shao, Chairwoman of StarCharge Group. The meeting centered on electric vehicle charging infrastructure and smart mobility systems.

President of Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group, Xin Yuan, also called on the Prime Minister. Discussions covered pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare cooperation, and investment opportunities in Pakistan’s growing medical sector.

The meetings also discussed the potential for increased investment, establishment of manufacturing facilities, and expansion of existing operations in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s policies for ease of doing business in Pakistan and also shed light on the investment-centric steps taken by the government.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday invited the Chinese investors to come to Pakistan, saying the government would give them land on long-term lease, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking at Pak-China business-to-business (B2B) investment conference in Hangzhou, he said that the government was going to provide all facilities to investors in Karachi. “We are going to build a special economic zone in Karachi, which will be at par with international standards,” he said.

“The government will not receive any amount for the land,” the prime minister said to the Chinese investors.

Shehbaz Sharif told participants that investors would be offered land on a long-term lease basis under highly attractive terms and conditions. He emphasised that the government would not charge for the land itself, describing the proposal as part of a broader strategy to attract investment and stimulate economic activity.

The prime minister also expressed optimism about expanding bilateral trade in the agricultural sector. He said Pakistan hoped to increase its agricultural exports to China to as much as 10 billion dollars in the coming years, reflecting the growing economic partnership between the two countries.

He added that the government was making arrangements to ensure that Karachi offered all essential infrastructure and support services required by international investors, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment.

The remarks came as Pakistan continues efforts to attract foreign investment and deepen economic ties with China through trade, industry and infrastructure development initiatives. PM Shehbaz stressed the need for converting memorandums of understanding (MOUs) into agreements.

He, however, said it was satisfying to note that over 30 per cent MOUs had been converted into agreements worth billions of dollars. “There is a lot of room for cooperation in four sectors namely agriculture, IT, mines and minerals and economic zones,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that the volume of Pak-China business-to-business trade had exceeded $13 billion. “Both countries have so far signed over 300 agreements,” he said.

He praised PM Shehbaz, saying he was working 24/7 for the country’s progress and prosperity.

Dar said that the conference was of great importance as over 500 companies from both Pakistan and China were participating in it.

He said that Pakistan gained economic stability during the last four years, and now the focus was on the country's industrialization.

He said that despite external challenges, Pakistan's economic indicators had shown a positive trend in recent months.

Deputy PM claimed that the country had been put on the path to progress and welcomed foreign investors.
