In this regard, conditions for leasing government land for waste-to-value projects have been prepared under which government land will be leased for waste-to-energy and biogas projects.
A new policy is under consideration to increase green investment in Punjab. Waste-to-value projects will be accelerated under the Suthra Punjab programme.
A proposed initiative has been taken to facilitate private sector investment in waste management projects. The Punjab government's initiative will help reduce environmental pollution.
Projects that convert waste into useful products will be promoted. The process of formulating rules and regulations for waste-to-value projects is underway.
