Intense heat persists in the country’s plains, as daytime temperatures in some areas have reached close to 45 degrees Celsius, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The plains of Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan are presently in the grip of extreme heat.
While the weather is cloudy in some parts of Punjab, it is extremely hot in others.
Heat makes life miserable in Lahore
Just like other parts of Punjab, the weather in Lahore, the provincial capital, is quite hot as the Met Office forecast that the maximum temperature in the city would touch the 42 degrees Celsius on Sunday afternoon.
Saturday’s night was not comfortable either as it remained 32 degrees Celsius on the minimum side.
Breeze was blowing at the speed of 13 kilometers per hour in the morning, while the level of moisture in the air was recorded at 40 per cent.
Karachi in grip of hot, humid weather
Heat and humidity persist in Karachi as well as it was predicted that the maximum temperature would fluctuate between 35 degrees Celsius and 37 degrees Celsius on Sunday afternoon.
The high level of moisture in the air, recorded at 75 per cent in the morning, made the weather more miserable.
Winds were blowing from the south-west at the speed of 19 kilometers per hour.
Hot, dry weather forecast for Islamabad
It is also dry and hot in Islamabad these days as the weather department said that the daytime temperature would rise to 36 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.
Winds were blowing at the speed of 17 kilometers per hour in the morning.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius.
Rain predicted for mountainous areas
On the other hand, the Met Office predicted rainfall for different parts of Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during the next 24 hours.
It said that the weather would remain hot to extremely hot in rest of the country.
