Two suspected robbers were killed, a Counter Crime Department (CCD) officer was seriously injured, and a CCD volunteer lost his life during a police operation in Taranda Muhammad Panah, according to officials.
The operation was carried out by the CCD Multan team following intelligence reports regarding the presence of members of the notorious Amin Boka gang in the area. Police launched a raid in an effort to arrest the suspects.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, members of the gang opened direct fire on the CCD team as soon as they arrived at the location, triggering a fierce exchange of gunfire.
Following the encounter, the gang’s alleged leader, Amin Boka, and one of his associates were killed.
A CCD officer sustained serious injuries during the operation and was immediately shifted to hospital for medical treatment.
As per the channel report, a volunteer assisting the CCD was also fatally shot during the exchange of fire.
Police said Amin Boka had been declared a proclaimed offender and was wanted in more than 50 criminal cases, including robbery, vehicle snatching, house robberies and other offences.
