Islamic University to renovate hostels with Saudi support

The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Capital Building Maintenance Corporation for the renovation and repair of hostels, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The renovation initiative has been launched under the guidance and personal supervision of President IIUI, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed.

With the special efforts of President IIUI, the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has provided funds amounting to Rs. 100 million to the nominated firm for the renovation work. The project was initiated following the directions of President IIUI, who had identified the urgent need for the refurbishment of the hostels to improve living facilities for students.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the new campus on Thursday, where Dr. Inaam ul Haq, Director of Administration, signed the document on behalf of the university, while Mr. Ejaz Ahmed represented the Capital Building Maintenance Corporation.

Under the MoU, the renovation work will include structural improvements, maintenance, and modern facilities to ensure a comfortable and secure residential environment for students.

The ceremony was also attended by Vice President A&F, Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman, Vice President R&E, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Dean Faculty of Shariah and Law, Dr. Zia ul Haq, DG Shariah Academy, Dr. Muhammad Akram, Director Planning and Development, Mr. Aamir Ishtiaq, In-Charge Finance, Mr. Noor Hussain and In-Charge, P&PR, Dr. Asma Mansoor.
