Former District Nazim Lahore and Punjab Group of Colleges Chairman Mian Amir Mahmood has proposed that all divisions of Pakistan should be made provinces, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Chairman Punjab Group Mian Amir Mahmood addressed an awareness session on the topic of Pakistan's challenges, opportunities and new paths in 2030 at Riffah University in Islamabad on Wednesday.
He said a number of countries in the world having population equal to Pakistan have 30 provinces. He said making more provinces in the country could help in progress and development in the country.
He said that said that we have failed miserably in public welfare, 70 percent of seventh grade children cannot read second grade books, thankfully we have become a nuclear country but no work has been done on public welfare.
Mian Amir Mahmood said that twenty-five million children in Pakistan are not going to school while forty-four percent of children are suffering from malnutrition.
