The Federal Government Wednesday approved the deployment of the Pakistan Army for the assessment of flood damage survey across Punjab.
The provincial government of Punjab had requested the PAK Army’s services, and the Federal Government has now sent formal orders for the deployment under Article 245 of the Constitution.
According to the details, the Army will be deployed to survey flood damage in 27 districts of Punjab. The deployed units of the army will be part of a joint survey team to assess flood damage.
A comprehensive post-flood damage survey has been declared essential as the recent floods have wreaked massive havoc, causing significant loss of life and property.
The survey will determine the damage to lives and property, crops, livestock, and infrastructure.
