The Sukkur Bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday issued bailable arrest warrants for DIG Parvez Chandio on the petitions, challenging the recruitment of police constables, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A two-member SHC bench, comprising Justice Zulfiqar Ali Sangi and Justice Riazat Ali Sahar, heard the case.
The judges also expressed indignation over the absence of the DIG and the SPs.
Additional Advocate General, Sindh, on the occasion, sought one month from the court so that a JIT could be constituted for compiling a fact-finding report and submitting it within that period. The court, however, granted 15 days.
The bench asked what would become of the candidates who had qualified for the post on merit.
The judges gave remarks that irregularities were found in the recruitment of constables as deserving candidates were rejected and those who did not qualify were accommodated.
