Pakistani actress Nadia Afgan has opened up about turning down roles in Jo Bichar Gaye and Faraar, revealing that the payment offered for the projects did not match her worth as an experienced actress.
Speaking during a recent episode of Kya Drama Hai, Nadia Afgan discussed the two projects while talking about some of the career decisions she has made over the years. She explained that she was offered roles in both dramas but decided not to accept them because she was not satisfied with the amount being offered.
Nadia described the situation in her own words, saying she was being offered money that felt like “2 rupees” for work she believed deserved a much higher value. She made it clear that her decision was about the payment being offered and not because she did not want to work in the dramas.
According to Nadia, she ultimately chose to walk away from both projects rather than accept a fee that she felt did not reflect her experience and the work she would put into the roles. She also revealed that the characters were later played by Nadia Jamil.
Nadia, however, admitted that she still has some regret about missing out on the two dramas. While she stood by her decision not to accept the offered payment, she acknowledged that she sometimes wishes she had been part of the projects.
Jo Bichar Gaye is a period drama directed by Haissam Hussain, while Faraar is directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain. Both projects went on to receive attention from drama viewers, with Nadia Jamil eventually taking on the roles that Nadia Afgan had turned down.
Looking back, Nadia's comments show that the decision was not as simple as rejecting two projects. She was faced with choosing between accepting a role for a fee she considered too low and walking away from the opportunity altogether.
