The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore have signed an agreement to link student registration and academic credential systems with national identity records.
Under the agreement, registration of students for Matric and Intermediate examinations will be linked with NADRA’s identity database.
An integrated and secure system will be established for the digital exchange of students’ basic information between NADRA and the Lahore Board.
NADRA will provide the board with basic student information, including names, fathers’ names and dates of birth.
The data integration is expected to reduce errors and discrepancies during student data entry and improve the issuance of academic credentials by using accurate and reliable information.
The agreement was signed by NADRA Lahore Regional Office Director General Fiza Shahid and Lahore Board Chairman Engineer Dr Badar-ul-Islam.
The initiative is part of NADRA’s broader plan to integrate national identity records with educational records.
NADRA plans to establish data integration with educational boards, universities and the Higher Education Commission across the country.
The authority is implementing a secure digital data exchange system with educational institutions in phases.
Officials said collaboration between NADRA and the Lahore Board would improve the accuracy and transparency of students’ academic records.
