A case has been registered after a polio vaccination team was allegedly attacked while performing its duties in the jurisdiction of Race Course Police Station, Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to the FIR, the case was registered on the complaint of a Health Department inspector under five sections of the law.
The polio team was carrying out its duties in Street No. 125 when an influential individual, accompanied by his mother, allegedly behaved rudely with the team after being asked about polio vaccination.
The complainant stated that the team was threatened and subjected to verbal abuse, while three individuals, along with the woman, allegedly assaulted the polio workers.
According to the FIR, the complainant itself was also attacked and official documents were torn up during the incident.
The Health Department complainant called for strict legal action against those involved.
