Six people of a family died and 7 other injured in a tragic head-on collision between a Carry van and a mini-bus in Ahmadpur Sial in district Jhang on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The ill-fated family was going from Jaggi Sharif area of Layya to Faisalabad to attend morning rites of some deceased relatives.
The tragic clash of vehicles was occurred near Kapoori Adda on Layya Road.
According to rescue officials, the tyre of Carry van was burst and the out-of-control vehicle smashed into a mini-bus coming from the front. The collision resulted in the immediate death of six people including a young girl and two women who were riding in the Carry van. While 7 other people also got injured in the fatal smash. The injured were rushed to RHC Hospital.
The heirs said that the ill-fated family was going to attend Fateh Khwani of some deceased kin in Faisalabad.
The dead included Yousuf, Ghulam Qasim, Ahmad Ali, Irshad Mai, Bushra and Khursheed. While Abdullah, Nasir, Muhammad Arsalan, Sadia, Nasira, Sheema and Bashiran gout hurt in the accident.
Garh Maharaja police said that they had confiscated the mini-bus while the driver of the bus had fled the scene.
Police said action would be taken against the bus driver.
