Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Tuesday paid a visit to Social Welfare Complex in Township, Lahore where he spent time in Afiyat Old Age Home and presented Eid greetings and gifts to the elderly persons there, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The chief minister went to the rooms of the elderly persons living in the old age home and met them individually and inquired about the facilities provided there.
The chief minister also inquired from the elderly persons about their problems. They expressed satisfaction over the quality of food and other facilities at Afiyat.
“The quality of food and other facilities are very good. The facilities here cannot be described in words,” the elderly persons at Afiyat told the chief minister.
Mohsin Naqvi ordered to get the names of the elderly persons living in Afiyat registered in Benazir Income Support Programme.
“I have come to share the joy of Eid with you. It is our responsibility to take care of our seniors,” he said to the senior citizens living in the old age home.
The chief minister directed to conduct regular medical check-ups of the elderly persons.
He also met columnist Athar Zameer in Afiyat and assured him of solving his problems. In this regard, he issued on-the-spot instructions to Provincial Information Minister Aamir Mir and DGPR Rubina Afzal.
Mohsin Naqvi also issued instructions for spraying in the rooms of the elderly people. He also inspected the dining room of the senior citizens.
Provincial Minister Azfar Ali Nasir, Lahore deputy commissioner and other officials had accompanied him.
The chief minister also went to Children’s Hospital, Lahore where he stopped by the family members of a deceased girl and inquired about the matter.
“Our baby girl Kinza Fatima was poisoned by a close relative. We want the postmortem of the girl,” they told the chief minister.
Mohsin Naqvi ordered to conduct the post-mortem of the deceased girl and assured the girl’s family of justice.
The chief minister also visited the emergency ward and reviewed the treatment facilities for the children. He appreciated the spirit of medics and paramedics for carrying out their duties despite limited resources.
