Four personnel of Frontier Constabulary (FC) embraced martyrdom and three others received critical injuries in an improved explosive device (IED) blast in Margate area of Quetta on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The bomb blast targeted the security forces as they were in the process of disposing of an IED planted in the area.
The martyred security personnel were later identified as Subedar Shahzad Amin, Naib Subedar Abbas, Sepoy Khalil, and Sepoy Zahid.
In addition to the fatalities, Lance Naik Zafar, Lance Naik Farooq, and Sepoy Khurram Saleem sustained critical injuries in the blast.
They were immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility, where their condition was being monitored.
Following the explosion, security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to locate the suspects responsible for the attack. Authorities have vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The blast marks the latest in a series of attacks on security forces in Balochistan, which has been facing a rising tide of insurgent activities in recent months.
Further investigation was under way.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned IED blast in Quetta in which four personnel of Frontier Constabulary (FC) embraced martyrdom.
In his message addressed to the martyrs' heirs, the Interior Minister paid glowing tribute to the sacrifices rendered by four FC personnel while performing their professional duty.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude and courage.
Mohsin Naqvi also prayed for early recovery of all injured persons.
He said that sacrifices of FC will be remembered and our enemies will not succeed in their nefarious designs to destabilize Pakistan.
Mohsin Naqvi said that personnel of our security forces sacrificing their lives to eliminate menace of terrorism from our country.
Two cops injured in Bannu blast
Two policemen injured as an explosive device exploded near Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Shankundi in limits of Cantt police station in Bannu, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to police, two policemen, Jamshed and Saifatullah, were injured in the explosion.
The explosive device was planted near a BHU by unknown terrorists.
The injured have been immediately shifted to the hospital.
