In a move to make staying connected in Pakistan easier for travellers, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a Temporary Mobile Registration System, allowing overseas Pakistanis and foreign tourists to register their personal mobile devices for free for up to 120 days per visit.
According to a press release, the newly introduced system is designed with user convenience in mind — fully digitised, free of cost, and accessible via the official Device Registration System (DRS) portal at https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs.
The PTA emphasised that the initiative ensures uninterrupted mobile connectivity for visitors, aiming to deliver smooth, reliable communication throughout their stay.
This traveler-friendly update is part of the PTA's broader commitment to offering efficient, inclusive, and innovative digital services, all while promoting a hassle-free experience for anyone crossing into Pakistani borders.
