A spell of hot and dry weather continues to grip most parts of Pakistan, with temperatures expected to remain above normal levels through Sunday, according to the latest weather outlook.
For tonight, dry and hot conditions are likely to persist across the country. However, partly cloudy weather is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
On Sunday, the federal capital Islamabad and its surrounding regions are forecast to experience dry and hot weather, with daytime temperatures expected to remain 3 to 5 degrees Celsius above normal.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will continue to face hot and dry conditions, particularly in the plains where temperatures are likely to stay 2 to 4 degrees Celsius higher than usual.
Similarly, Punjab is expected to remain under the influence of hot and dry weather. Even hill stations such as Murree and Galiyat are likely to experience warm conditions, while plain areas may see temperatures 3 to 5 degrees Celsius above normal.
In Sindh, the majority of districts will remain hot and dry, with upper districts likely to record temperatures 2 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal.
Balochistan will also experience similar conditions, with hot and dry weather prevailing in most areas. Northeastern and southern parts of the province are expected to record temperatures 2 to 4 degrees Celsius higher than average.
Meanwhile, dry weather is forecast for both Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The highest temperatures recorded in the country on Saturday were in Shaheed Benazirabad at 46°C, while Sibi and Mithi recorded 45°C each, highlighting the intensity of the ongoing heatwave.
Authorities have advised citizens to take precautionary measures, avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, and stay hydrated as temperatures continue to soar.
