A robber who, along with his accomplices, fled on a motorcycle that they snatched from a citizen died in a road accident while avoiding police in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

“The accused were fleeing towards Zero Point on the motorcycle when they saw a police picket ahead,” police said.

“The citizen whose motorbike they had snatched was also chasing the robbers in a Suzuki pick-up,” the police added.

“While firing shots at the citizen coming after them, the motorbike they were riding hit a stone beside the road and fell. Resultantly, one robber died while his two accomplices fled away,” they stated, adding the driver of the Suzuki van was also injured in the firing of the robbers.

The police recovered the motorcycle, a cell phone and arms from the deceased.
