Shaheen Shah Afridi celebrated the first birthday of his son, Aliyaar Afridi, with a heartfelt message on social media.
Taking to Instagram, the left-arm pacer shared adorable pictures with his son and penned an emotional note reflecting on his journey into fatherhood.
“Happy Birthday, Aliyaar – one year already! The moment I carried you for the very first time,” Shaheen wrote.
“Watching you grow, smile, and take your tiny steps has been the most beautiful journey of our lives. Our greatest blessing and our purest joy. Mama & Baba love you more than words can ever say.”
The touching post quickly won the hearts of fans, who flooded the comments section with warm wishes for the young Afridi.
Legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who is Shaheen’s father-in-law, also shared a special note for his grandson on Instagram.
“Happy 1st birthday to my precious Aliyaar. In just one year, you’ve brought more love and light than I ever imagined. May Allah bless you with a life full of health, happiness, and purpose. You are so deeply loved,” the former Pakistan captain wrote.
The two heartfelt tributes showcased the strong family bond between the Afridis and gave fans a rare glimpse into their personal lives.
The pacer has a busy schedule ahead as the Men in Green are set to feature in a T20 tri-series with Afghanistan and the UAE from August 29 to September 7, beginning with a clash against Afghanistan.
The tournament will serve as vital preparation for the upcoming ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025, scheduled in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from September 9 to 28.
Pakistan will open their Asia Cup campaign against Oman on September 12, followed by the much-anticipated showdown with arch-rivals India on September 14, before facing hosts UAE on September 17 in their final group-stage game.
Originally, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had scheduled a bilateral T20I series against Afghanistan this month, but the plan was expanded into a tri-series to offer stronger competition and better preparation ahead of the Asia Cup.
