All seats under the government Hajj scheme for 2027 have been booked within seven days, with officials attributing the rapid uptake to the government's digitalisation of Hajj operations and growing public confidence in the new system.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs said seats for the 20- to 25-day short Hajj package were filled within the first 24 hours, while the remaining seats under the long Hajj package were booked by 12 noon on August 25.

The process for collecting Hajj dues began on the intervening night of August 18 and 19.

Officials described the completion of the government Hajj quota within seven days as a significant milestone, saying the digital system had made the application and payment process faster, more organised and transparent.

The digital Hajj platform, developed with the support of the National IT Board, played a key role in streamlining the booking process, the ministry said.

Through the Pak Hajj App and Hajj Portal, intending pilgrims were able to complete various stages of the application and payment process from their homes.

The ministry said the rapid filling of seats reflected public confidence in the government Hajj scheme and was the result of joint efforts by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the National IT Board.

Booking under private Hajj schemes, meanwhile, continues through the Hajj portal and will remain open until the allocated quota is filled.

The government is continuing efforts to align Hajj arrangements with modern digital requirements under the leadership of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, the ministry said.
