A considerable increase has been noticed in Pakistan-China trade and exports of Pakistani products to international markets through Khunjerab Pass, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Pakistan Customs earned record Rs15 billion revenue during the financial year (FY), 2025-26, due to imports from China through the Pass.
It had earned Rs13.67 billion during the preceding FY, 2024-25.
Pakistani products worth Rs2.8 billion were also exported to China and Central Asian republics through the Pass during the aforementioned period.
According to the Customs officials, marked increase in Pakistani products exports to China and Central Asian republics was recorded under the Transports Internationaux Routiers (TIR), which is an international system that makes trade between different countries of the world safe, secure and fast.
The officials have said that the items Pakistan exports to China and Central Asian republics include surgical instruments, garments, rice, leather products, carpets, fruits and vegetables.
They have further said that strict scrutiny of imported items at the Pass has made operations against drug smuggling more effective.
