PPP calls emergency Sindh Assembly session over possible division of province

The Pakistan Peoples Party has decided to convene an emergency session of the Sindh Assembly on August 28 to oppose any possible division of the province, with a resolution in support of Sindh's unity expected to be tabled in the house.

The assembly session will be held at 5pm, while all PPP lawmakers have been directed to attend a parliamentary party meeting at the Chief Minister's House at 4pm following congregational prayers.

Party members have been instructed to ensure their attendance, with no exemptions from the meeting allowed.

The PPP parliamentary party will discuss the issue of any possible division of Sindh and finalise its strategy before proceeding to the provincial assembly.

Following the parliamentary party meeting, PPP lawmakers will attend the Sindh Assembly session, where a resolution reaffirming the unity of the province will be presented.

Sindh Chief Minister will table the resolution in the assembly.
