Slaps ban on non-operational purchases: Up to 40% decrease in utility bills planned: Spending on petroleum products to come down by 35%

In the face of dire economic situation, the Pakistan Army has decided to adopt austerity measures as the institution has imposed a ban on its all non-operational purchases, reported 24NerwsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The Army has slashed 35%-40% expenditure on utility bills. It has also decided to bring down 35% of its expenditure on petroleum products. Rs 20 billion savings will be made by reducing expenditure on essential items. 

Frequent online meetings will be held to monitor measures aimed at controlling expenditures. 

In order to improve the deteriorating economic condition, the decision regarding cutting down Army expenditures will be implemented immediately.
