WhatsApp is developing an exciting new feature that will allow users to edit sticker photos for status updates, with the feature expected to be available in an upcoming update.

As reported by WABetaInfo, the feature is still being fine-tuned as the popular Meta-owned messaging app prepares for its official release to beta testers. Once available, the feature will let users customize the shape of their sticker photos before posting them as part of a status update. Users can choose from a set of predefined shapes.

The available shapes will include two rectangular options (landscape and portrait), a square, a circle, a heart, and a star, offering a more personalized experience when using sticker photos. The rectangular and square shapes are ideal for creating a collage effect, allowing users to arrange multiple images neatly within a single status update for easier sharing of related images.

Meanwhile, the circular, heart, and star shapes are more decorative, adding a fun, artistic flair to sticker photos. For example, the heart shape could highlight a romantic moment, the star shape could make a specific image stand out, and the circle shape might be used for profile-like cutouts or drawing attention to a particular part of an image.

With these new shape options, users will be able to customize their sticker photos to match various themes, moods, and storytelling styles in future status updates.
