56 suspects arrested during search operations in Islamabad, Punjab

56 suspicious persons were taken into custody from Islamabad during a search and combing operation of law-enforcement agencies (LEAs), 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

These search and combing operations were also conducted in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Murree, and Attock 

According to the details, during the operation in Chungi No. 26 in Islamabad, 219 houses and 630 persons were thoroughly checked.

Law enforcement agencies also recovered illegal weapons from the possession of arrested persons.

Screening of 410 suspicious people and 290 houses was completed in Rawalpindi, New Katarian, Pindora, Double Road and 7th Road.

12 Afghan nationals who were living in Rawalpindi after the expiry of their visa limit were also apprehended.

A comprehensive search operation was also conducted in the district of Chakwal, Talagang City, Saddar, and Taman during which documents of 161 suspicious persons were checked.

12 proclaimed offenders were also arrested during the search operation in Chakwal.

Checking of hotels, shops, and residential places in Bhurban and Kohsar Market of Murree was completed, during which four persons were arrested.

209 and 488 people were searched in the combing operation in Attock, Hassanabdal, Fatehjang, Jund, Pindi Ghaib and Hazro.

8 illegal Afghan nationals were arrested from Attock, and a 30 bore pistol was also recovered from their possession.

A total of 432 police personnel, 12 lady police, 71 Rangers, 14 elite sections, CTD, and intelligence agencies participated in the joint operation across the country.

Officials said that the process of screening, checking tenancy records, and identity documents of legally residing Afghan citizens has been further tightened.

They further said that these operations against illegal foreigners and criminals will continue.
