A fire broke out in a factory near Karachi's Murtaza Chowrangi in the Landhi area on Wednesday, prompting an emergency response from rescue authorities and civic agencies.
According to a spokesperson, the Rescue 1122 fire brigade sought immediate assistance from the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation to help control the blaze.
An emergency was imposed at the Landhi hydrant, following which the Water Corporation promptly dispatched water tankers to the site of the incident.
Officials said that the in-charge of the Hydrants Cell is in constant coordination with rescue teams, while the CEO’s focal person for the Hydrants Cell is personally supervising the ongoing operation.
The spokesperson added that uninterrupted water supply has been ensured to the fire brigade during firefighting efforts, with water tankers continuing to be supplied until the fire is completely brought under control.
Authorities stated that all possible cooperation is being extended to rescue agencies to safeguard the lives and property of citizens in the affected area.
