In a strongly worded legal response, Pakistani digital creator Mahnoor Rahim has firmly rebutted a legal notice sent by Advocate Taimur Aslam Khan, rejecting claims of defamation and standing by the truth of her recent viral Instagram videos.
The response comes amid a social media storm over her allegations about inappropriate messages from a senior television producer.
Mahnoor rose to prominence online not just for lifestyle and entertainment content but also for candid storytelling.
The recent controversy began when she shared an Instagram reel recounting how a producer allegedly sending a message at 3 a.m made her uncomfortable.
In her original video, Mahnoor did not name the sender but spoke about choosing integrity over fame and refusing to respond to late‑night messages she deemed unprofessional.
When commenters began associating the account with Umer Mukhtar, a senior producer at HUM TV, Mahnoor posted a follow‑up video explicitly naming him.
In that video, she also referenced Hania Aamir’s association with Mukhtar and highlighted Hania’s role as a UN Women Safety Ambassador, calling attention to issues of accountability and professionalism.
According to the legal documents, Mukhtar’s legal team issued a defamation notice on February 20, 2026, demanding that Mahnoor remove all related content within seven days, or face further legal action.
Instead of complying quietly, Mahnoor responded through her counsel, emphatically denying that her statements were defamatory or false.
In the formal response, the law firm stated that Mahnoor acted on information received in good faith and in the public interest, asserting that her comments were truthful and concerned matters of societal relevance, a key defence under Pakistani defamation law.
The letter also highlights that Mahnoor has received communications from minor girls alleging inappropriate behaviour by the opposing party, further intensifying the gravity of the issue.
The response asserts the existence of preserved electronic evidence including messages that support Mahnoor’s claims.
In a parallel Instagram caption under her response post, Mahnoor thanked her supporters for their outpouring of love and prayers, noting that she chose to respond after careful reflection rather than emotion. “I believe in speaking with clarity, not emotion, because I know the truth can neither be punished nor silenced,”.
