A major rail accident was narrowly avoided near Jahanian when a wagon of a freight train travelling from Lahore to Karachi became detached from the track during the journey, triggering an emergency situation on the railway line, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to details, the detached wagon separated while the freight train was in motion, creating panic and disrupting rail operations in the area.
Local children reportedly pushed the detached wagon and moved it safely to the railway station, preventing further complications.
Following the incident, rail traffic on the Lodhran-Khanewal up and down tracks was temporarily suspended. Due to security concerns, the Milat Express was halted at Jahanian Railway Station to avert any potential accident.
Railway authorities later repaired the affected wagon and restored train operations after clearing the track. Traffic on the affected rail section was subsequently resumed, officials said.
