Declaring KP government’s claims that people were being evacuated from Tirah Valley in Khyber on Pakistan Army’s orders baseless, misleading and based on mala fide intent, the Ministry of Information said categorically on Sunday that no such orders had been given either by the army or the federal government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It added the purpose of such claims was to spread fear and panic and to disseminate wrong information about the state institutions.

It further said that the security forces only carried out intelligence-based operations against terrorists, and during these operations it was ensured that the routine life of locals was not disturbed. “And for these operations, neither there is any need to evacuate people nor such evacuation is underway,” the ministry clarified.

It went on to say that locals too were concerned about the presence of militants in their midst and want peace and stability in their area.

The ministry referred to a notification issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on December 26, 2025 in which it earmarked Rs4 billion for those leaving the valley voluntarily and temporarily.

The ministry added that any such statement given by the KP government or any of its official to the media, linking the voluntary movement of people to the army was only a pack of lies, concocted and based on mala fide intent. “Such statements are only issued for political purposes and are unfortunately an attempt to malign the state institutions.”
