Apple-related rumours are gaining momentum just weeks into 2026, with fresh leaks offering clearer insight into the iPhone 18 Pro’s design while also shedding light on the company’s broader artificial intelligence ambitions, including updates to Siri and new AI-powered hardware concepts.
In recent months, speculation around the iPhone 18 Pro’s front-panel design has been marked by conflicting reports. Supply chain sources had hinted at under-display Face ID technology, while other leaks suggested Apple might move to a top-left hole-punch camera. There was also debate over whether Apple would shrink, reposition, or eliminate the Dynamic Island altogether.
However, well-known Weibo-based leaker Instant Digital has now clarified the situation. According to the leaker, early reports from Chinese and Korean sources discussing changes to an infrared Face ID component were mistranslated in some English-language coverage. This led to incorrect claims that Apple was preparing to adopt a hole-punch camera design.
Instead, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain the Dynamic Island, albeit in a more refined form. The cutout is reportedly set to become around 35 percent narrower, preserving its functionality while delivering a cleaner, more streamlined look. This interpretation has also been supported by respected display analyst Ross Young, adding credibility to the revised design narrative.
Alongside hardware leaks, attention is also turning to Apple’s software and AI strategy, with reports suggesting major upgrades to Siri and experimental devices such as an Apple AI Pin.
